Distinguished Club Program

What is the DCP and why should I care?
The Distinguished Club Program (DCP) is an initiative designed and monitored by Toastmasters International to keep clubs focused on those activities that create the strongest learning environment inside the club. The Austin Toastmasters has a history of successfully completing many of the requirements of the DCP. Our club is a demonstration that attention to the tenets of the DCP over time will create a strong club, with strong leaders, and an environment where everyone involved becomes a better communicator.

How the DCP Works
The DCP is an annual program, running from July 1 through June 30. The program consists of 10 goals:

  1. Two CTMs
  2. Two more CTMs
  3. One ATM-B, ATM-S, or ATM-G
  4. One more ATM-B, ATM-S, or ATM-G
  5. One CL, AL, or DTM
  6. One more CL, AL, or DTM
  7. Four new members
  8. Four more new members
  9. Minimum of four club officers trained during each of two training periods
  10. One semi-annual membership report and one club officer list submitted on time.

TI World Headquarters tracks the progress of all clubs toward these goals throughout the year, sending quarterly progress reports to the club Presidents.

Awards
President's Distinguished Club - achieve any 9 of the 10 goals
Select Distinguished Club - achieve any 7 of the 10 goals
Distinguished Club - achieve any 5 of the 10 goals

In addition to meeting the stated goals, there is a membership requirement. At year-end (June 30) we must have at least 20 members OR a net growth of at least five new members. Not a problem.

At year end, TI World Headquarters sends our club President an attractive ribbon for display on our club banner and a congratulatory letter. The ribbon and letter will be included with the year-end report. The club's officers will also be invited to attend the Club Leadership Luncheon held during the International Convention in August, where they will be recognized for the club's achievement.
